Today is world porridge day! And if you were to name your favorite breakfast dish, you probably wouldn’t even think about porridge. 

Did you know that oatmeal porridge is one of the most suitable breakfast dishes for breaking a fast? We know that porridge gets a bad rep among breakfast lovers. However, oatmeal is an excellent source of vitamins, minerals, protein, and fiber, which tend to have a positive effect on the human body. 

That’s why we challenge you to try out our three simple recipes for your next breakfast! 

CARAMELIZED BANANA AND CHOCOLATE OATMEAL 

Yield: 2 servings

Ingredients:

  • 100 g of oatmeal
  • 2 tsp of chia
  • 300 ml almond (or any other) milk
  • 2 tsp of cocoa
  • 2 tsp of peanut butter
  • Butter, according to your taste
  • 2 tsp of maple syrup
  • A few bits of dark chocolate

For caramelized bananas:

  • 2 bananas
  • 2 tsp of maple syrup

Preparation

Step 1 – Pour the almond milk, a pinch of salt, and the oats into a pot and slowly cook and stir until the porridge becomes creamy. Add the cocoa. When cooked, add the chia seeds to swell.

Step 2 – Heat the pan, add the butter, maple syrup, and bananas cut in half. Don’t hurry, caramelize the bananas slowly, over low heat. After the bananas become brown, start serving.

Step 3 – Put the porridge in a bowl, place the bananas on top, then add in the chocolate. If you want to sweeten it, add some more maple syrup or some sesame seeds, it’s up to you!

BLUEBERRY BANANA OATMEAL

Yield: 2 servings

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup of oatmeal
  • 1 cup of water
  • 1 cup of almond or coconut milk
  • 2 bananas
  • 1 tsp of maple syrup or brown sugar
  • 1 tsp this vanilla
  • Blueberries – as much as you want
  • Extra ingredients according to taste – nuts, dried fruits, coconut shavings, peanut butter

Preparation

Step 1 – Add the oats, water, milk, and a finely sliced banana to a pot of boiling water

Step 2 – Put everything in a pan and cook over low heat until it becomes creamy

Step 3 – Remove the pan from the heat, add the maple syrup and vanilla

Step 4 – Decorate your breakfast: Add the remaining banana, blueberries, or other ingredients

SAVORY GARLIC OATS WITH EGG

Yield: 2 servings

  • 1 glass of oatmeal
  • 2 glasses of water
  • 2 tsp this olive oil
  • 3 cloves of garlic
  • 100 g of Cheddar cheese
  • A few leaves of sliced ​​basil
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp of paprika
  • Salt and Pepper

Step 1 – Heat the olive oil in a pan and add the chopped garlic. After 30 seconds, add the oats, bake them for a few seconds and add the water, pepper, and salt. Boil the whole mixture until it becomes soft. Add some more water if necessary. When the oats are cooked, remove the pan from the stove, add the cheese and some basil.

Step 2 – Fry the eggs. For taste, season with basil, salt, and pepper.

Step 3 – Evenly divide the porridge into two bowls, add the eggs, and season it with paprika or other spices.
